The internal lining is bamboo, renowned for its antibacterial properties; one side is organic cotton, suitable for delicate surfaces, the other is made of hessian fabric, perfect for scrubbing away dirt on crockery and cups. Our kitchens are probably, together with the bathrooms, the areas of the house that we stuff the most with disposable plastic items. Small changes in our habits make a massive difference to our planet, and this lovely set of eco friendly dish sponge is the perfect solution for green cleaning solutions for your home.

These cleaning pads are fully biodegradable and compostable at the end of life. They are ideal for wiping surfaces or washing breakfast cups, or plates after a meal. Please note that they are made of cotton and natural fabric, so for heavier duty dishwashing, or for exclusive use while washing your pots and pans, we recommend using our eco-friendly brushes.

Can a bar of soap be used for the body as well as laundry detergent? Yes, if the soap in question is the renowned Savon de Marseille, made with the traditional method used by French soap makers for centuries.

OLIVE:  sodium olivate, sodium palmate, aqua, sodium cocoate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxyde

HOW TO USE

Eco Scrubber

• Use the organic cotton side for wiping surfaces like a kitchen counter, table, sink, windows etc.
• Use the hessian rougher side for plates and cups that need a more robust scrubbing!
• Machine wash up to 30°C max.
• Avoid using with chemical soaps (such as Fairy etc) as it may affect the durability of the natural fabric. We recommend our natural dish soap.
• Once they are all used up, cut them in small pieces and pop them in your compost. They will naturally biodegrade.

If being taken care of, this soap dish will last for a very long time and keep your soap bars happy and comfy!

• Don’t leave it soaked in a puddle of water
• Allow it to dry

Savon De Marseille Soap

LAUNDRY

• Wet stains with cold water and rub the laundry bar over the dirty area until it is well coated with soap. 
• Let it soak into the fabric for about 10 minutes (leave a bit longer for very dirty, tough stains) before putting into the washing machine or handwash.
• It works wonders with all kind of stains:  fruit, ink, grease, tar,  coffee, oil, wine,  sauce, grass stains, soiled nappies, dirt stains etc.
• Use together with soapnuts for a truly eco-friendly laundry routine.
• Keep on a wooden soap rack to allow it to dry between uses, this will extend its durability.

MEET EARTHBITS

First off, thank you for visiting our website! We starting our own journey as a zero-waste family with a clear goal in mind to make meaningful changes in our habits and lifestyle; our mantra has always been “have less impact on the planet, create less waste, and become better, more sustainable consumers”.

In our quest to swap plastic or disposable products with durable, plastic-free and less wasteful alternatives, we found there were companies we fell we could trust completely. These companies are now part of the EarthBits family and we are very proud to collaborate with them and showcase their products on this site!

On the other hand, we also found there were a lot of other products that were advertised as “eco-friendly” but didn’t seem to us as sustainable or ethical as we wanted them to be. With that in mind, we decided to launch our own brand of products, sourced from small, often family-run suppliers we can fully trust.
