Why use a bamboo toothbrush
If you are looking for the best eco-friendly toothbrush option to make your bathroom more sustainable and plastic-free, we cannot recommend a bamboo toothbrush enough. If we all swapped to a natural toothbrush made of wood or bamboo, the impact on the environment would be huge as we could stop millions of plastic toothbrushes from ending up on our beaches, rivers, fields and landfills.
How to dispose of a bamboo toothbrush
Once the bristles are all used up, the true sustainability of a bamboo or wooden toothbrush is that the handle can be composted! There are two ways to dispose of your sustainable toothbrush, either remove the bristles with pliers, or you can simply saw off the head with the bristles, throw that in the general waste bin and compost the handle.
How long does a bamboo toothbrush last
Just like any other toothbrushes! The difference is literally just in the fact that instead of polluting the environment, wooden toothbrushes are recyclable and biodegradable. Anything else, from functionality to performance or durability, is the same as your old plastic toothbrush!
Are bamboo toothbrushes suitable for children and toddlers?
Yes they are! We stock a lovely range of both bamboo and beechwood toothbrushes for kids, they are smaller and specifically designed to help little ones with their brushing routine while also adding some lovely colour and fun. If your toddler tends to bite on the bristles, we recommend caution as the bristles don't have any chemical glue and although very secure, they are not designed for strong biting on them as they could detach.
