DESCRIPTION

This shampoo bar is recommended for people with thin or greasy hair, as its formula keeps the hair moisturised without leaving oily residues. Plus, the lavender essential oil beautiful aroma will add a relaxing touch to your bath or shower.

ONLY NATURAL INGREDIENTS!

  • OLIVE OIL: It is a naturally effective moisturiser,  hydrating the skin without clogging your pores
  • ALOE VERA JUICE: The best solution to oily hair types, due to its hydrating properties that leave hair light and shiny
  • COCONUT OIL: It is easily absorbed by hair follicles, and reduces inflammation of the scalp, as well as being a natural antioxidant
  • SWEET ALMOND OIL: Nutritive oil, particularly suitable to reduce itchiness on dry skin types

HOW TO USE

Transition phase

When you first switch to a natural shampoo bar you may go through what is called a "transition phase". During this period your hair may feel oily, you may produce excessive sebum and get waxy residues.   The reason this happens is that conventional shampoos and hair products often contain silicones that coat your hair to make them feel soft and look shiny.

Unfortunately, these substances leave some residues that are hard to remove with natural gentle products. Another reason is that conventional shampoos tend to remove your natural oils causing your scalp to over-produce oils to compensate. Because natural shampoo bars don't strip the hair of their natural oils, for a little while you may have excess oils while your scalp adjusts to the new washing method.

Before using the shampoo bar

To avoid this oily feeling you can prepare a baking soda wash before using your shampoo bar. This may be done only once to speed-up the transition phase or regularly if you live in a hard-water area.

  • 1 tbsp of Baking Soda/Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 1 litre of warm water

Dissolve the baking soda into the litre of warm water in a large jar or bottle. Pour the solution on your wet hair, massage and rinse well. Then proceed with the application of your shampoo bar.

Using the shampoo bar

Shampoo bars are much more concentrated than liquid shampoo, therefore, rubbing the bar directly on your hair will most result in using too much product, leaving a residue. - Lather the bar in your wet hands and apply the foam obtained to your hair, massage the hair as you would do with a liquid shampoo. - Section your hair in major areas where to apply the shampoo (i.e. top of the head, the two sides and the back). This will ensure an even application of the product.

After using your shampoo bar

We recommend using an Acid Rinse, as this has multiple benefits, it will balance the PH (soap is alkaline while our skin is slightly acidic), it will help remove any residue and it will leave your hair soft and shiny! You can get a vinegar rinse from our shop or make your own, here is a recipe for you!

ACID RINSE RECIPE

  • 1 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 500ml of warm water

Mix the water and Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) in a spray bottle. After washing your hair, spray the ACV solution on the roots and lengths Let it rest on your hair for 1-2 minutes and then rinse well. Keep the bottle in your shower for the next washes and, don't worry, the smell of vinegar will fade once your hair dry!

MEET ZWP SHOP

At the beginning of 2016, the founders, Bianca and Giulio, decided to try and produce less waste after reading an article about Lauren Singer and her trash jar on her famous blog for a zero-waste lifestyle.

They committed themselves to try living as sustainably as possible and along the way they also started to produce more and more products that they then decided to make available to the public.

One of the reasons behind their desire to start their own brand was that it is really hard to find information about the waste and practices used to make products before they get to the consumer, and they also realised this is even true for many sustainable products.

They have created a company that is not only zero-waste and sustainable in the ingredients and final packaging choices but also in every step of the production chain.
